Pain points

  1. Stage 2 (First launch): If there is no “Getting Started” guidance or the empty state is confusing, Alex may close the app and never return. Mitigation: Home shows clear next steps (plugin setup link, add music folder).
  2. Stage 3 (Configure local files): If the plugins directory is not clearly documented or the local-files plugin is not pre-installed, Alex may not find it. Mitigation: reference plugin ships with the app.
  3. Stage 6 (Search across sources): If no Spotify plugin exists yet, Alex can only search local files. Disappointing if they expected streaming. Mitigation: Home and Music Room show available plugins and hint at how to add more.
  4. Stage 9 (Room switching): Only one room exists in v1 (Music). Switching to other rooms is not possible. Mitigation: Home + Music are the only destinations in v1. Avoid showing empty room slots.

  • Saved content in the library is source-independent (FR-CORE-3, FR-ID-1)
  • Room switching maintains queue and playback (FR-ROOM-1 — single room in v1, verified in v2)
